“Rachel’s Challenge” helps put a stop to bullying

Rachel Scott was the first person killed at Columbine High School on April 20, 1999. Her acts of kindness and compassion coupled with the contents of her six diaries have become the foundation for one of the most life-changing school programs in America. Powerful video/audio footage of Rachel’s life and the Columbine tragedy holds students spell-bound during a one hour school presentation that motivates them to positive change in the way they treat others.

This is followed by a separate  interactive 90 minute training session involving both adult and student leaders that shows how to sustain the momentum created by the assembly. The assembly creates the “want to” or desire for positive change. The training session teaches the “how to” and ensures that the positive impact will continue.

That evening the Rachel’s Challenge speaker conducts a powerful session with parents and community leaders. This session is similar to the assembly program and ends with a specific challenge to parents and community leaders, showing them how they can reinforce the decisions their youth are making.  Entertainers, politicians, sports celebrities, educators, and even two Presidents of the United States have been impacted by Rachel’s Challenge. However, students are the target audience and they have proven that they will respond with positive words, attitudes, and actions.  Your school will never be the same after being exposed to Rachel’s Challenge!

Travis Brown (Mr. Mojo) is recognized as America’s Anti-bullying Coach.

Mr. Mojo is recognized as America’s Anti-bullying Coach for his tireless work to fight the social epidemic of bullying and change the lives of today’s youth. The Operation Mojo No Bullying Tour (www.nobullyingtour.com ) has created a unique way for him to connect to students with his life changing anti-bullying message: Mojo UP – Leaders Taking a Stand Against Bullying!
While students across the country are taking the pledge to Mojo Up (www.facebook.com/mojoup ), the effort continues to inspire schools and communities to make an impact on the anti-bullying movement by touching the lives of students that are bullies, victims or bystanders. The driving forces to change the culture are the concepts of the Leaders Taking a Stand Against Bullying program.

Travis encourages students, parents and educators to take the MOJO UP CHALLENGE, and join him on his mission to “change the world one student at a time.”

MOJO Is The Difference Maker
According to Wikipedia, MOJO is a metaphorical reference to possessing a “magic touch” of creativity or charm.  It’s the “it” inside ourselves that gives us the inspiration, aspiration and courage to make our dreams come to life. How do I explain it? MOJO is the highest level of Positive Attitude, Positive Energy and Positive Results! MOJO is what the best have and the rest want!

MOJO UP is when you use your MOJO to influence people around you in a positive way leading them to also make a difference!  Just like successful artists, politicians, scientists, athletes and business leaders throughout the decades from Dr. Martin Luther King to Bill Gates, President Barack Obama, LeBrown James and even Facebook’s Mark Zuckerberg, used their Mojo to change the world with their vision and voice.  I want to change the world, one student at a time so we will teach everyone to MOJO UP and make and impact!

“BULLY” premieres March 30th in New York and Los Angeles

Dear Friends,

We are getting really close! BULLY premieres March 30th in New York and Los Angeles with twenty cities to follow in April, and many more if we have a great turnout! Together, we have an unprecedented opportunity to address the bullying crisis.

TELLING THE TRUTH ABOUT BULLYING

As you may have heard, we recently received an ‘R’ rating from the Motion Picture Association of America (MPAA) and despite a personal appeal from Alex Libby, one of the incredible kids in the film, and Harvey Weinstein, the decision was upheld. Their ruling could potentially ban the very students who are on the front lines of America’s bullying epidemic from seeing the film unless accompanied by a parent or guardian. Clearly, this is unacceptable.

Statement from Lee Hirsch (BULLY Director):

“I made BULLY for everyone to see, kids who are bullied, who bully, and the vast majority who are witnesses …those kids can make change by speaking up, becoming upstanders instead of bystanders. We have to change hearts and minds in order to stop this epidemic, which affects more than 13 million young lives a year in our country. The stark realities of bullying are that kids say terrible things to each other…and kids in junior and senior high-school use profanity. ~~ It is devastating that the MPAA, in adhering to a strict limit on certain words, would prevent this film from being seen by those who need its message the most….”

100,000 AND GROWING

This morning we learned that an extraordinary high school student named Katy Butler from Ann Arbor, Michigan launched an online petition on change.org urging the MPAA to reconsider. In less than 24 hours more than 100,000 people had signed on – WOW!

Here is the link to sign, tweet, post on Facebook and blast out to all your constituents about the petition!
